NIHR Themed Reviews
Care at the scene is a themed review published by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Dissemination Centre. The overwhelming majority of 999 calls are not traffic accidents or heart attacks, the role and the scope of ambulance services has changed radically over recent decades. Typically the calls we respond to now involve people with complex and ongoing health problems who are experiencing a crisis.
