Ambulance Trusts’ Publications

NARSG places the same value on disseminating findings from research as it does on undertaking research. We believe that findings from research conducted within our Trusts should be shared with other professionals as by doing so we can improve the quality of care given to patients.

NARSG partnered with the NIHR Dissemination Centre to publish a themed review. “Care at the Scene” brings together evidence from NIHR funded research on urgent and emergency care outside hospital.  You can read an electronic version of the publication here.

amber is the Ambulance Research Repository for NHS ambulance trusts in England.  amber aims to hold records about all research published by NHS ambulance service staff and researchers from 2006 to date. Library and Knowledge Services for NHS Ambulance Services in England (LKS ASE), working with colleagues at Manchester University NHS Trust Library are systematically searching for and inputting information about publications.  This work will be completed by May 2020.  Currently amber holds information about research published since 2017 to date and is updated monthly.  For more information about amber visit the amber marketing website.

Most resources can also be accessed using NHS OpenAthens.  If you need an NHS OpenAthens account you can register for one here.  You can search databases (MEDLINE, CINAHL, EMBASE and EMCARE) and other resources (BMJ Best Practice) using NHS Evidence Search.  Many of the search results are available in full text.  If you need help with searching, with the supply of articles or want to register for Current Awareness Service visit the LKS ASE website for more information or contact the library (library@nwas.nhs.uk). If you are from SWASFT you can contact the Discovery Library.
